Including KIS Clean Outs, KIS Thrift and the original Simple Store in Hartford Village, Ryan has contributed to virtually all aspects of the Keep It Simple businesses for three years, helping us grow into what we are today. You’ve probably seen his autostereograms (aka Magic Eyes) for sale in the store, but you might not know about his super viral Reddit post on the art form, and only I know how much his technical and creative wizardry impressed Tom Baccei, the creator of the original Magic Eye franchise, because I watched it happen when we visited Mr. Baccei last spring. Indeed, Ryan’s super smart, which is a good thing because he’s about to go teach math to the youths. In addition to lifting heavy things with aplomb, he’s set up a bunch of our processes and standards; developed our homegrown internal system for tracking clean outs jobs; and once found a huge amount of cash forgotten in a box inside another box in a crawl space — and returned it to a very happy customer. He’s responsible for producing some of our greatest Instagram hits, including our most viral video; setting up some of the funnest stuff in the thrift store (hello, quarter game and giant hanging Sriracha bottle!); and ran last year’s Prouty in 1:47:17, helping us raise $1,120 in the fight against children’s cancer. He’s the person we turn to when unplugging and replugging a piece of technology doesn’t fix it, and we will be lost without him. We hope to see him back on the rigs in the summers, but for now, Friday is his last day. So please join me in continuing to embarrass him by giving him a high-five at the show that afternoon! —MC
